THE
STORY:
This
paintball event is themed to the ever-popular Ubisoft/Redstorm
game series known as "Ghost Recon." After a great
deal of research, the Mission Masters Team designed an all-new
mil-sim campaign that fits the "Ghost Recon" theme
perfectly and delivers all the style you've come to expect
on the paintball field!
The
year is 2010. Latin America is a hotbed of conflict as the
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia - known as FARC - is
on the verge of overthrowing the U.S.-backed Columbian government.
More evidence flowing into the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency
confirms that FARC is being aided by the Columbian Drug Cartel
(CDC) and the notorious Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez.
While it's yet unclear as to the direct interest Chavez has
in the usurpation of the Columbian government, one can only
surmise that his hatred for the U.S. and their support of
emerging Columbian democracy is playing a crucial role.
While
FARC funds itself by kidnapping, extortion, money laundering,
and illegal drug trade using resources from the CDC, Chavez
pours money into the organization via his enormous oil revenues.
As a result, FARC is gaining more than just currency, it's
gaining power and the Columbian government is on the verge
of collapse. Numerous FARC Safehouses have sprang up all over
Columbia, used to train their members, plan attacks, launch
electronic espionage, and record media propaganda to spread
their cause.
In
an effort to diffuse the situation, a Special Forces unit
of the U.S. Army, codenamed Ghosts, is sent into Columbia
to take out FARC and eliminate their stranglehold on the government
there. Their secondary mission, though no less important,
is to discover the real threat Venezuela poses to not only
the Latin American region, but also to the U.S.
Ironically,
the day the Ghosts arrive, a shocking event takes place which
allows them to pinpoint a region of FARC activity. FARC mounted
a bold attack in broad daylight and rocked the Columbian capital
with simultaneous explosions, including one which heavily
damages the U.S. embassy and kills two of the ambassador's
aides. The Ghosts engage from the shadows in an attempt to
stop the agenda of terror enacted by the FARC on the Columbians.
THE
TEAMS:
TEAM
BLUE
THE GHOSTS
are a fictional elite United States Army Special Forces unit
(Green Berets). The Ghosts are the spearhead of the U.S. Army's
rapid response to any contingency around the world. They are
the first unit deployed into dangerous situations and the last
ones to leave ("First In, Last Out").
The
unit uses the nickname "The Ghosts" as they rely more
on stealth to accomplish their missions rather than sheer firepower.
However, if things get rough, they can cut loose with the most
advanced technology the United States has to offer.
"Recon"
refers to the fact that the Ghosts operate in small self-contained
units which can do their work swiftly and silently. Their missions
may include: penetrating deep into enemy territory to rescue
captured personnel; surgical strikes prior to a main assault
force; reconnaissance and intelligence gathering; pathfinding
and target designation for air strikes. The Ghost Recon game
emphasizes that the Ghosts are the "tip of the spear."

TEAM
RED
FARC:
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia
FARC is organized along military lines and includes several
urban fronts or militia cells.
The FARC claims to represent the rural poor in a struggle
against Colombia's wealthier classes and opposes the United
States influence in Colombia. Other prominent areas of focus
for the FARC include fighting against privatization of natural
resources, multinational corporations, and paramilitary violence.
The FARC says these objectives motivate the group's efforts
to seize power in Colombia through an armed revolution. It
funds itself principally through extortion, kidnapping and
participation in the illegal drug trade.
The
FARC attacks civilians not involved in the conflict, plants
land-mines, recruits underage boys and girls, maintains hostages
for ransom and political leverage, some of them for as long
as 10 years, and is responsible for the displacement of civilians
through conflict. The FARC also frequently recruits teens
as soldiers and informants. Human Rights Watch estimates approximately
20 to 30% of the guerrillas are children under 18 years of
age. Info collected from Wikipedia
