The First Mission Paintball Game:
"ALIEN INVASION: THE PAINTBALL INCIDENT"

The basic story of the "Alien Invasion" game was traditional Aliens vs. Humans… however there were several specific objectives that each team had to complete within each segment of the game. Sometimes the objective was simply to defend a certain position, other times it was to find and retrieve a specific prop or "weapon". Each mission depended on the results of the prior mission(s). Many of the missions featured props such as "bodies" and "pods" that each team tried to locate and secure before time for that segment expired.

One of the best segments of the game took place when the Human team was placed in a "lab" with orders to repulse all attackers while the Alien team was divided into two sections and placed on either side of the occupied lab. The ensuing battle was thoroughly fierce and strategic for both sides! As soon as the game started, the Humans posted sentries in the woods and cabins surrounding the lab to serve as an early warning system since they were unaware of the Aliens' starting positions. In order to overcome this obstacle, the Aliens strategically banded together to overwhelm the sentries by sheer firepower. Once the majority of the sentries were eliminated, the Alien forces spread out in an attempt to surround the defending Human forces entrenched within the lab. However, several of the Human sentries had "gone to ground" and hid themselves in the brush to serve as snipers against individual (less united) Alien players. Although the Aliens were able to pick off many of defending Humans within the lab by using long-ball shots, the snipers played a huge role in keeping the Aliens at a distance.

Unfortunately for the Humans, in the last 60 seconds of the segment, the Aliens mounted a massive offensive push which overwhelmed the snipers and the few brave souls who remained defending the walls of the lab. Moments later, members of the Alien team sprinted off the field carrying several "bodies" (props) that were recovered inside the lab. Both teams displayed excellent teamwork as well as individual bravery and selflessness in completing their assigned missions.

Overall the Alien Invasion event ran very smoothly with essentially zero complaints voiced about the new format. After Mission Paintball's spectacular first appearance, we can surely expect to see much more of this innovative new format!
